My Chehlum Kama Matam 2009 Mumbai

chehlum I start a new set at Flickr , my Kama matam, or head cutting on Chehlum 2009 , shot by Baqar Nassar, I will have to divide Chehlum in 3 series , one is of my Kama Matam, second of Maulana Abbas Irshads Chehlum majlis at Moghul Masjid, and after the majlis the Juloos begins , from Moghul Masjid to Rehmatabad Shia cemetery at Mazgaon, Habib Nassars Iraqi Kama Matam Anjuman leads the way, normally I stay with this Anjuman, and than after my Kama Matam, I move ahead to shoot the Zanjir Matam on the Bridge , this would be Set No2 . Set No 3 is the hardcore zanjir and kama Matam inside the Rehmatabad Shia cemetery , this is bloody and gory so use your discretion while seeing the pictures… I shot about 6 GB memory cards I think.. I will not be able to cross blog all this to my Shia site Shah Ast Hussain , so you will have to see all this at Flickr, all this part of my Shia Collection pictures. See this sets that pertain to Shiasm , as a photo journalist blogger I shoot other religiosity and gender based community.. Girish Mistrys students were shooting the event dressed in black and bare feet I had informed him of this event last night. Though he worries unnecessarily about my head cutting and my diabetic condition.. Girish Mistry is a wheel chair bound photographer Dean of Shari Photo Academy. On Chehlum , you get to see a unique race of devout Shias the Baluchis of Maharashtra. Their children are beautiful, the women dress in black clothes and look like gypsies. Last but not the least I missed my mentor American Dr Glenn Losack MD from Manhattan , he shot this procession last year. My right hand wrist got accidentally cut by a flagellating blade and needed medical attention, its a deep cut, but no ointment was applied on the deep wound , just a tourniquet to stop the blood.
